On 30 April 2021, the University of Manchester hosted a first workshop with contributions from the Leipzig Heart Institute. The purpose was to obtain and incorporate feedback from Key Opinion Leaders in Cardiac Medicine on the development of the PROFID clinical prediction model.
The University of Manchester will develop a clinical prediction model for estimating the risk of sudden cardiac death in individuals with a history of myocardial infarction. This will be used to estimate the expected benefits of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator implantation to prevent sudden cardiac death within this cohort of individuals.
